Eco-Friendly Digital Marketing Internship: Day 1
Derek Mehraban, CEO of Ingenex Digital Marketing a full service interactive-marketing company, is ahead of the game when it comes to the term “eco-friendly” Derek started a Digital Marketing Eco-Friendly internship program for students like myself that are, well, living on a student budget, but still want to get out there and get the experience they need to land a job come time to graduate.
Being a digital marketing eco-friendly intern Derek has given me the opportunity to not only practice my digital marketing skills and learn new skills and techniques that are leading the market right now, but to also do it all from the comfort of my own home. It is the first internship I have heard that allows me to work from my desk at home or from a beach in Mexico! There are no more concerns of driving through traffic, paying for gas, paying for parking, or having to pollute the environment on the way.
Derek keeps in touch through variouse social media tools including e-mail, and even facebook. Yes I said it, my boss works with me over facebook. It’s great! It allows for an open honest relationship, and I think a more relaxed approach to the interaction we need to have to get the job done. The best part is I don’t feel like Derek is my boss, I have had so many interactions with him in the past 10 days, I have worked with him, discussed family, and even know what they look like through his facebook profile that I feel like I have known him for much longer. Derek is more of a mentor that has opened my eyes to what is new and upcoming, what I need to do to further my career while helping him and his company.
This internship is more than I could have ever asked for and I am truly looking forward to the projects with Ingenex and Derek that I will be a part of in the next few months.
